If you’re the type of person people openly describe with words like “flair” “exceptional” and “elegant”, you probably already own a chandelier. But, we ask – do you have one of THESE magnificent cascading chandeliers?

On the surface, we buy lights for functionality. After all, we need to see where we’re going and whether there are any crumbs on our faces. It’s true that lighting helps us complete tasks, but it also affects our mood while simultaneously presenting a work of art.

Chandeliers make a statement in their own right, and they are far from the candlesticked relics of days past. Take the dramatic presence of this traditional fixture up a notch and consider a cascading chandelier. The dazzle of a flowing shower of crystals, glass, bubbles or shells will both illuminate and intrigue. We’ve put together a list of 4 sensational options below!

Remember, chandeliers aren’t just for mansions with grand dining areas. Place them over your kitchen table, in your children’s bedroom or your powder room to shine  a new light on your space.

Bonus Tip: Choosing The Right Size For Your Chandelier

To Find The Ideal Size: Consider the size of your light and the clearance that will be left underneath it. Using your tape measure, find the total width of your dining table, then subtract one foot. For example, if your dining table is 42” wide, find a chandelier that is about 30” wide. This will please the eye and help you and your guests avoid bumping into it every time they stand or sit.

To Find The Ideal Height: As dazzling as chandeliers are, it’s a bad thing to literally blind your guests from the glare of a low-hanging chandelier.
As a rule be sure there is about 30″ to 36” from the bottom of your light to the tabletop from an 8 foot ceiling. Add 3 inches to the height of your light for each additional foot of ceiling height. This means that a light in a 10-foot ceiling should hang down 36″ to 42”.

We hope you’ve found some great ideas on how to add an extra touch of glamour to your space with cascading chandeliers. We’ll be back next week with more design tips and tricks. The Louie Lighting Team wishes you and yours a safe and happy weekend.
