Hadco Lighting MU5 Medium Mushroom Pathlyte 120V In Oiled Brass

Hadco Lighting MU5 Medium Mushroom Pathlyte 120V In Oiled Brass

As the name suggests, the MU5 Mushroom Pathlye from Hadco Lighting resembles a tall mushroom with a stem made of solid brass and the roof of stainless steel. The stem is about 25” long and the dome is about 9” in diameter. The MU5 functions on the normal line voltage of 120 Volts and can be used for lighting pathways and walkways. Hadco subscribes to its parent Philips’ policy of making lighting simple and easy – in fact it goes one step ahead and also gives a range of choices in the MU5 mushroom pathlyte – a choice of black, verde, oiled brass and brass finishes. The brass finishes get their own patina over time, giving a unique look to each of the fixtures. With a reflector on its underside and the ability to hold a 100 watts lamp, the MU5 mushroom is the perfect path lighting fixture.

The main advantages of low voltage lighting for outdoors are simplicity of installation, lower risks of electrical hazards and lesser power consumption. While low voltage lighting itself may not consume lesser power, the power saving is on account of the low voltage lighting being more conducive to the use of energy efficient bulbs. This path light is operational suitability in wet conditions.  Satin Nickel is the exception, so ask for it in a PVD finish thus making it ideal for outdoor use, along walkways, pathways, fences and for step lighting.

I agree with you, maybe the most difficult choice when you buy outdoor lights is to make a good deal with aesthetic and functionality. For example the solid copper lantern seems to be a good choice, thanks to her vintage style and her materials
