Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting began in the 1980′s based on the vision and work ethic of an electrical contractor, founder, Daniel F. Cuñado.
Mr. Cuñado had extensive experience working with and installing various outdoor lighting products and hit upon the realization that he could build a more durable, reliable and attractive line of fixtures himself. Initially, the fixtures were built for use on projects from his own garage, but he quickly learned that landscape architects and contractors were keen to obtain his fixtures for their own projects.
Soon, a small, home-based operation expanded into a full-time business with wholesale distributors signing on to carry his product line. The initial supply was sold across the United States and later expanded worldwide to Canada, the Caribbean islands, Europe, the South Pacific, South America, and Asia!
Cuñado adopted important the values he witnessed from larger companies, focusing on processes that would allow the company to offer customers a diverse selection and quick turn-around time.
In business and increasing its operations since 1984, Vista designs, manufactures, and supplies a wide range of characteristic lighting fixtures, transformers, HID ballasts, and accessories for the lighting professional. Vista manufactures products for both the low voltage and line voltage lighting markets.
The company was built on an innate understanding of the needs of the professional contractor, and develops new product solutions that are rugged, easy-to-install, and flexible in design. In addition, Vista carefully tracks trends in the landscape design and home decor markets to create fresh new models that are significant and visually appealing.
Modeled on what Cuñado terms as “a pizza parlor process”, the company stocks raw materials in large quantities. Then, through a well-organized process of die casting, machining, powder-coating and final assembly, these stock materials are swiftly combined into custom-made finished products in less than 24 hours. This process also allows for customization which helps the company to deliver on special orders and high-end projects quickly.
The company maintains in-house control by integrating many critical manufacturing functions that are typically outsourced, like die-casting and powder coating. This provides a higher level of quality control and delivery flexibility that places Vista a cut above and allows for the continued domestic manufacturing of all products within the United States.
Vista now has expanded in Simi Valley, CA with three large manufacturing plants building lighting fixtures, transformers, HID ballasts and accessories. An on-site product testing laboratory examines fixtures for long term resilience in a variety of climatic conditions. The testing facility also ensures all products meet international standards like CUL and CE. In addition, an on-site training center educates designers and contractors that visit the facility on advanced design and installation codes. This guarantees that each Vista fixture, HID ballast, and transformer is robustly constructed of the highest-grade materials for outstanding durability and lasting satisfaction.
Vista Professional has been a forerunner in incorporating new technology into its products. The first manufacturer to introduce the all-halogen concept across its entire line of low-voltage lighting fixtures, Vista recently also introduced a comprehensive range of energy-saving LED fixtures that have a fraction of the power consumption compared with similar traditional incandescent fixtures. The company also initiated the use of fiber-reinforced industrial composites in the manufacture of light fixtures, improving their performance, stability, and longevity.
Vista has an established reputation among lighting designers, engineers, architects, distributors, contractors, and property owners for first-class products. Their wide range of quality designs and finishes are an ideal complement to residential, commercial, public area, resort, and institutional applications.
As Vista approaches its 30th year in business, the company has earned a concrete reputation for product excellence and service and is poised for continued rapid growth.
